Threatened Species Surveyor - Duke of Burgundy (South Wiltshire)

Opportunity image

We need people to record the Duke of Burgundy, on chalk downland in the Cranborne Chase National Landsape, an important area for this threatened species. Surveys in 2025 will build upon those undertaken in 2024 and will take place from late April to mid June. This data is used to inform decisions which help to conserve butterflies and moths, both locally and nationally.

Training in the survey method will be given.

Our conservation work depends on us knowing how butterfly and moth populations are doing, and we are lucky to have over forty years' worth of data collected by volunteers to help us in our mission to conserve butterflies and moths.

At Butterfly Conservation, we want to create a world where butterflies and moths are enjoyed by everyone, forever.
